Wear it Three Ways: The Three-Piece Wool Suit
Let’s just think about some guys who are particularly fond of the three-piece suit: Fred Astaire, Gay Talese, and most recently David Gandy. In the world of style, that’s about as good of company as you can get. So how do you get the most out of a three-piece suit?
- Wearing all three pieces together is a proven formula for success. A classic navy tie and white shirt has all of the James Bond appeal you could ask for.
- You can also create a whole new look by switching out your jacket in favor of a notch lapel navy sport coat. A simple switch, but the versatility makes this suit that much more appealing.
- Rather than switching out the jacket, one can use it all on its own when paired with dark trousers and a more casual shirt. CB wears his black cargos and a plaid sport shirt to create a more casual look that is ideal for fall.
Being able to mix and match like this makes a three-piece suit a perfect option for those that like to pack lightly when they travel, but still want to look great while doing so.
